Our focus is customer service and good times, in and out of the water.
Located along Nicaragua’s Pacific coastline in the town of Miramar, we take from the quiet town’s laid-back lifestyle. Mother Nature takes care of the weather and the waves, bringing in sunshine, swell and offshore winds.
We take care of you with comfy digs, local knowledge, mouth-watering meals and, of course, good vibes. Your worries won’t consist of more than deciding whether to drop in or wait it out for the next set.
The dream started when two friends on a surf trip fell in love with Miramar.
They decided to build a place on the beach to share with friends and newcomers alike. The beachfront location they found was perfect – quiet and relaxed with no crowds and quality waves for days. Fast forward 18 months (filled with minimal amounts of blood, a fair amount of sweat and plenty of beers) and we are open and ready for business!
We chose the name for its simplicity in capturing what it means to live.
VIVIR is a Spanish word that means ‘to live’. It’s easy enough to say, “just live in the moment” but with our rapidly changing, fast-paced world, it’s getting harder and harder to do so. We’d like to think that with VIVIR we’ve created a place where it’s easy to unplug, relax, and let the sun and tide guide your days.
Meet Lewis Brooking, one of our owner-operators.
Lewy was born in the small town of Potato Point, Australia (population coming in at a whopping 60) where he was raised in the waves, surfing every day. One day ten years ago, he decided to take a trip to Canada and never ended up leaving. He now has residency up in the Great White North and plenty of experience in the tourism industry under his belt.
Working in British Columbia’s beautiful backcountry as a lead guide and manager for snowmobile and quad tours, production shoots for movies, TV and extreme sports along with a level three first aid certification makes Lewy the perfect host at VIVIR. His trip to Nicaragua in 2015 reignited his love for surfing and ocean life and he decided to trade in snowy mountains and cold for sun-kissed beaches and tasty waves.
